Despite Triston Casas having been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 MLB season, Rafael Devers has announced he has no intention of making a position switch for the Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox announced Sunday that Casas had suffered a ruptured patellar tendon during a Friday win over the Minnesota Twins. Casas, who was limited to 63 games in 2023 after suffering torn cartilage in his rib cage, had batted .182 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in his first 29 games of the 2024 season.

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora has not discussed a move to first base with Rafael Devers in the wake of Triston Casas' season-ending knee injury, he said Tuesday (via MassLive.com). Cora gave a flat "no" when asked whether he plans to talk to Devers about first base.
