After meeting with Boston Red Sox principal owner John Henry, Rafael Devers remained at designated hitter for Friday night's road game against the Kansas City Royals.

Henry was accompanied by Craig Breslow and team president Sam Kennedy. But Henry alone sat with Devers and manager Alex Cora in the visiting manager’s office at Kauffman Stadium.
