MUMBAI, India (AP) — India’s biggest domestic cricket tournament was suspended for one week on Friday following the escalating military tensions with Pakistan.

It comes after artillery exchanges between the two nuclear-armed countries were reported across the frontier in Kashmir overnight.

India 's cricket board has suspended the money-spinning Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 tournament amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, according to reports. Reuters report that IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal and the Indian cricket board's secretary Devajit Saikia did not respond to calls and messages seeking comment.
