The wait was definitely worth it for Will Howard. Largely projected as a late Day 2 or early Day 3 pick, the former Ohio State quarterback wasn't selected until the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. While he wasn't thrilled about that, Howard literally wept tears of joy after being drafted by the Steelers, the team he wanted to play for all along.

Former Ohio State quarterback Will Howard has said before how glad he is the Pittsburgh Steelers took him in the 2025 draft, but he recently expounded on those comments during an episode of former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger's podcast.

On his first day at rookie minicamp, Howard continued to sing the praises of the Steelers, and said he had a soft spot for them heading into the draft. “I’ve got a lot of connections to Pittsburgh,” Howard said.
